This recent drama with Tom Preston (which I have nothing to contribute to) got me thinking: what can I improve about my art? Do I try to do anything about my style or form? I think it'd be ideal for me to try some new things, given all I do is draw characters in rather stagnant poses a lot. This journal isn't so much for readers as it is for myself, a checklist or point of reference to try new things.
Things I need to try:
Use more muted colors more often
-I often use a lot of vibrant colors, and that can hurt people's eyes.

More dynamic poses and body shapes
-I believe I draw a variety of body shapes (even if I don't post it all on here) but not a lot of it is all that energetic.

Comic formats
-Basically comics in general, I would like to start one with a friend and I should learn/get used to all the visual elements involved in it.

Backgrounds/scenery
-They're hard and I hate them- let's fix that!

Faces- mine need variety
-I tend to have a serious case of same-face syndrome- same nose, same eyes, same face structure at a 3/4 angle

Lineless artwork
-As annoying as it can be, I find it actually kind of fun- I once met someone who said it has more life and movement to it, but I am doubtful

Longer animations
-Mine tend to never exceed 5 seconds, do they?

Volume/Depth, textures and lighting (suggested by =
Betachan -I'm just starting to work on light, but textures and volume are big ones that I could improve in
If anybody else can think of anything else I could use work on, I'd be more than happy to hear it and possibly add it to the list- I'm not shy about critiques or redlines either.
