Lazuli- Crystal Circle pt1-III

Depending on a their elemental affinities, and their strength as judged in the ring, newcomers are assigned to a master who will instruct them throughout their lives, much as a parent figure. Who is your master or mistress? What do they look like? What is their personality? What do you think of them?

Master Hephaeus was surprisingly passive for someone of his size and strength. The older earth mage was light-hearted and unlike so many of the ungulates Laz knew, he wasn't in any way aiming to intimidate anybody- the lobster especially. Sure, he had some pretty high standards with what he asked of Lazuli, but he was willing to teach in such a way that didn't put any pressure on him. Master Hephaeus absolutely adored jokes, and by the end of the third day with him Lazuli had lightened up significantly, laughing hard enough to wheeze and fall off his chair a good number of times.

And he can't remember any time he's laughed that hard.
