:bulletwhite:Whether or not they are impressed by your show of power, your Alpha suggests you consider seeking a place to sharpen your skills. While elemental magic is the most common form of sorcery in the Valley, spellcraft itself is more oral tradition than written. He or she tasks you with journeying to four hotspots of elemental energy across the Valley- the cascading Derora Falls, the mountain of fire in the Skeo range, the tanglewood depths of Sylvanian Forest, and the rough-hewn peaks of the Hidir mountains.

Lazuli had no idea mountains even went this high.

Part of the mountain range that wrapped around the valley was encompassed in winter almost year round, their peaks piercing the clouds and blanketed with the coldest snow. Given the range's proximity to Okeanos, the faevyn had figured it the best place to start, and found it to be the most exhausting trek he'd ever taken. Wind whipped between carved crags and glacier peaks, and he'd nearly been blown off of his path more times than he could count on his fingers. Upon reaching the top it began to subside, the atmosphere thinning slightly with the greater elevation. His antennae whipped behind him as another gust blew, which cut through cloth and shell and straight to his core; perhaps he should have worn a little more on the trip up here. Lazuli stopped when he reached a level plane and looked around him to see what he could ascertain about the element of wind.

Initially, it wasn't much; wind was cold, strong, and he couldn't see it, only the effect that it had on the clouds and trees far below. Some powdery flakes dislodged from the hill beside him, scaring the faevyn enough for him to swipe his tail under him and send the small mer to the ground. Seething, he scrambled to his feet and shook the snow off; what in the world was he supposed to gain from something he couldn't see? He dwelled on that for a while; air, wind, you couldn't see it. You couldn't tell what color it is, or where it necessarily came from, or why it decided to move in all manner of directions.

But he could see the effect it had.

He saw the flakes blow off the mountaintop in a flurry that scared him half to death. He saw the clouds circling and breaking apart as they were pushed along, held aloft by a breeze he'd never see. He felt it pressing at his back, felt it pushing him in almost determined effort to remove him from the mountain, like a protective force that forbade him, and it howeled and whistled, growing louder as it blew harder. Just because he couldn't see it didn't mean it wasn't there, that it didn't have an impact on the world. And while Lazuli couldn't manipulate the wind, it was wholly capable of manipulating him, and the carved peaks, and the leaves of trees and dirt and the waves. It was certainly a dangerous force of nature; the fact you couldn't see it made the wind's impact all the more visible.

The lot of these are gorgeous- but I think this one is my favorite. His antennae flap so majestically xD
